OUR CHALLENGE
Acknowledging that global climate change represents an unprecedented and ongoing threat to life and humanity, creating immense suffering and damage right now all across this planet, our work advocates for ambitious and scalable climate solutions to protect civilization and life on this planet - in line with what science and human compassion demands.
Responding to climate change can create huge opportunities to transform our societies towards far safer, life-affirming ways of living and more sustainable modes of progress - if we engage on supporting and scaling up the necessary solutions. Such solutions could then create a massive improvement in well-being and reduction in suffering such as the world has never seen - improving the lives of millions of people and the rest of life that shares this precious earth.
To achieve this transformation will take ambitious leadership and vision on a scale rarely if ever seen in human history - though past societal shifts such as the Industrial Revolution in the late 19th / early 20th Century may provide some analogy to the scale of change we need. Today, we clearly need a Sustainability Revolution to create a thriving, livable future, powered by climate safe clean technologies and a shared cultural commitment towards social justice and sustainability. Such a change will truly be momentous, requiring deep engagement across all levels of society - how can we best communicate this vision, to build the true groundswell of support it needs?
Enter the power of the arts and artists as vital communicators of a changing world. Our work at PCF is to couple an in-depth understanding of Earth System Sciences with the world of Arts and Culture - inspiring the future clean economy and a far more sustainable, safe climate future.
